R user groups start at UQ and JCU

The University of Queensland and James Cook University both now have community user groups to provide support to those using R, a programming language for statistical analysis, data visualisation and more.

The UQ R Users Group (UQRUG) will aim to meet on the third Monday of each month but check UQRUG on Twitter for updates. Also check UQRUG’s Github page for more information.
UQRUG is a monthly skill-sharing and collaborative problem-solving session for the UQ R user community. All skill levels welcome, whether you use RStudio, RKWard, Rcmdr, Jamovi or something else.
UQ Library and the R-Ladies Brisbane Chapter are supporting UQRUG.
JCU’s CodeR Townsville group will meet each Monday, 11am–12pm. Sessions will be as follows:

  • 1st Monday of the month: Q&A session
  • 2nd Monday: R basics tutorial
  • 3rd Monday: workshop
  • 4th Monday: anything goes.

As the venue will change depending on room availability, follow CodeR–TSV on Twitter and check its Github site for more information.
The first CodeR–TSV meeting was held on 18 November 2019, and the first UQRUG meeting was held on 20 January 2020.
